Welcome to Juan Riordon Media
I am Juan Riordon, a photographer, cinematographer, and independent journalist with over 11 years of professional experience. Currently, I am a full-time student at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I am pursuing a double major in Art History and Advertising with a minor in Business. My career is rooted in a seven-year foundation at the Denver School of the Arts, where I specialized in video production and screenwriting and served as the Student President of the Video Cinema Arts Leadership Council (VCALC).
Throughout my career, I have balanced high-level technical production with a deep commitment to community and culture. My cinematography has earned international recognition, including the Global Scot Award for Best International Collaboration and a nomination for Best Cinematography at the 2022 Edinburgh 48 Hour Film Festival. Additionally, I served as the Director of Photography for the feature film Jammin' Dead.
My background in sports photography is equally distinguished; I served as a video coach and personal photographer for the Denver East High School Hockey Team during their historic 2021-2022 season, which saw them secure both the Colorado Class 5A State Championship and the USA Hockey Division II National Championship.
Beyond the lens, I am a dedicated competitive athlete within the CU Boulder Barbell Club. I have represented the university in three consecutive USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals and achieved a fifth-place finish at the USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals. This blend of artistic rigor and athletic discipline defines my approach to every project, whether I am capturing a portrait, documenting a sporting event, or furthering your brand ambitions.
